The Problem #
Transom mounted transducers are inherently prone to causing spray due to the gap between the transom and the leading edge of the transducer. We can move the tranducer up or down and change the angle to get better sonar readings at speed, but this may be detrimental to the amount of spray caused. This rooster tail effect can be very harmful. You can expect;
- Annoying spray back into the boat
- Spray on steering systems and and connections, and
- Most problematically, water jetting under the cowling seal, entering the engine emvironment
Saltwater exposure in these areas leads to corrosion, electrical issues, and potentially premature failure.

What the Rooster Rooter Does #
Our Rooster Rooter redirects water down and away from the motor and bridges the gap between transom and transducer. Instead of uncontrolled spray, turbulance is reduced, spray is pushed down and outward. It does all that without the need to drill holes, sandwiching between the transducer and the transducer mounting bracket, almost invisible, but very effective.

The Bottom Line #
The Rooster Rooter is is a preventative upgrade, it reduces salt exposure, protects key systems, and helps avoid long-term damage caused by water spray. A simple addition that improves reliability and protects your investment.
